CADS-NCD Mont Cascades 2010

Hello Skiers and Volunteers/Instructors,

I would like to welcome all of you back for another wonderful ski season at Mont Cascades. Those who attended our Golf Tournament this year; many thanks for all your support, at the end of the day we raised $5000.00 for CADS-NCD. Vicki Mierins and I assisted the Canadian Ski Patrol in an evacuation exercise this weekend. In the event if we ever had to evacuate a sit ski or one of our members, the Ski Patrol has now been trained. The ski lodge went under some renovations this summer; new washrooms to accommodate any disability have been added. It looks like our vision to offer a sit-ski program in the near future will certainly become a reality.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Jim Bottomley back to our program. We are definitely in a need for more volunteers. I would encourage all of you to take a close look at your friends, working colleagues, relatives, people who you think could offer 8 Saturdays during January and February. Program starts officially January 2nd, 2010. On Saturday December 19th, we will be holding a mandatory PD Day at Mont Cascades for all Volunteers. This will give us all a chance to sharpen our on and off hill skills. This event has always been a tremendous success, looking forward to seeing all of you there. Registration forms will be e-mailed out. Please have them mailed back to me before November 30th, 2009. Fees this year are as follows:

• Junior skier (under 17) $145.00
• Adult Skier $175.00

Membership fees to CADS will be paid by CADS-NCD ($30.00).

Please have the skiers at the mountain for 9:30am sharp. The program starts at 10:00am and runs to 3:00pm. If you can’t make it; please call me at 613-231-4294. For all volunteers we will be having ski sessions, starting at 8:30am sharp at the base ski lift, a good warm-up for the day. Any of you who are CSIA Ski Instructors, Monday evenings at Mont Cascades, we have been invited to session with their instructors. This will be at no cost.
