Calabogie Peaks Program


Serving the upper Ottawa valley (Arnprior, Renfrew, Pembroke) and southeast Ontario, the disabled skiing program at Calabogie Peaks provides the opportunity for adults and children with disabilities, to ski with the support of trained volunteers and certified instructors.

Operations

The program operates on Sundays, starting January 3, 2010 and lasts for 7 weeks. The hours of operation are from 10.00am until 3.00 pm with an hour break for lunch. Full day and half-day programs are offered..

Equipment

All ski equipment (boots, skis, poles and sit skis) are provided for those who need them. Specialized adaptations are also provided by CADS-NCD. For stand up skiers requiring equipment, you will be contacted by Rob O’Connell during November 2009. if a fitting is required.

Volunteers

We are seeking volunteers to provide assistance to disabled skiers. If you are an intermediate skier, have your own equipment and transportation, we will train you in the techniques we use to assist disabled skiers. We will provide you with free lift tickets when you ski with the program and support from certified instructors including group ski improvement sessions.
