Each year the Calabogie CADS program receives generous donations from the Lepine Group, RBC, Nu-Tech, Lion’s Club, many Legions  and individuals.  We are extremely thankful for the support we receive.  We invest the monies in new equipment and program needs.
Thank you to all that made a donation!
We here at CADS Calabogie would be not be able to do what we do without you!

Sit Ski Evacuation at Calabogie Peaks
Sit Ski Evacuation

On January 4, 2015 Al Watson from CADS worked with the Calabogie Ski Patrol to conduct a practice lift evacuation.

Many thanks to the ski patrol and the ski school staff that helped on a very cold day.

It was success and the photo above is one of the sit skis being lower to the ground.  It was an excellent opportunity to work with the Ski Patrol and Calabogie Mountain to ensure that everything would run smoothly if we have to execute a real evacuation. It is very unlikely we will ever have to do this but far better to be prepared and able to evacuate as fast and as safely as possible.

They lowered a Mountain man and a bi-ski HOC which let them evaluate and adjust technical requirements for the different set ups of the different sit skis.  Safety is exceptionally important and we are pleased with the results of the event.

Legion Riders
On 10 October about 75 Legion Riders from Eastern Ontario set out on their Annual “Fall Colours Ride” starting from the Collins Bay Legion and finishing at the Westport Legion. This is an annual fundraiser for their particular Charity of choice.  For the past 5 years they have been supporting our own CADS Calabogie Winter Sports Clinic for Injured Soldiers/Veterans. This year’s Ride raised $2,680.00 for the 2016 WSC and brings their combined total to over $15000. in 5 years. The funds were presented by Bill (Drifter) Truman and 6 of his fellow Riders during the Volunteer Registration at the Peaks. Their continued dedication to our cause has a great deal to do with how successful we have been in supporting our injured Heroes at our clinics. Pictured were the Legion Riders who made the trip up to Calabogie to present the cheque.
